Dr. Gold has been teaching and tutoring writing and the humanities for over twenty years. In 2004, she received her doctorate in comparative literature from U.C. Berkeley where she also won every teaching award available to lecturers and instructors. Among other institutions, Dr. Gold has taught at Capital High School in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and St. Mary's College in Moraga, California. More recently, she has worked individually with middle school, high school, and college students from Mills College, U.C. Berkeley, College Preparatory School, Head-Royce School, and Bentley School in the East Bay and from Eton in Great Britain, helping them develop and refine their writing and reading skills.
Noted for her patience, kindness, and humor, Dr. Gold has provided one-on-one or small group academic assistance to a wide range of young learners, from the academically gifted to the learning challenged.
