实用美国对话场景对话 - 讨论买车
闲客美国之窗 摘自"American English Idioms and How to Use Them" by Hubert H. Setzler, Jr.
Kevin:What do you think of your father's new SUV?
Eric: I don't like it.
Kevin: Really?
Eric: Yes, I wanted him to buy one of those Janpanese cars.
Kevin: Well, your father did point out that the price was low.
Eric: Well, I came up with a different price overall.
Kevin: Oh, what is that?
Eric: I figured out that Dad would save over fifty dollars a month on gas. That is , he would save money if he bought a compact car.
Kevin: Perhaps that's true. Your Dad came up wth a different idea. He wanted a big car.
